Last week the Trump administration offered a US$50 million reward for information leading to his arrest.

On Monday, the Cuban Chapter of the Antifascist International expressed its solidarity with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro over a new maneuver in the United States’ economic war against the Bolivarian people.

Earlier, on Aug. 7, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the administration of President Donald Trump was offering a US$50 million reward for information leading to Maduro’s arrest, accusing him of links to international drug trafficking networks.

In response to this unfounded and treacherous accusation, the Cuban members of the Antifascist International issued the following statement:

“On Aug. 11, from Havana, the Cuban Chapter of the Antifascist International:

Categorically and firmly rejects the decision of the U.S. government, announced by its attorney general, to set a US$50 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the legitimate and constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, comrade Nicolas Maduro. At the same time, the Antifascist International fully endorses the statement of the Cuban foreign minister, who deemed this measure by the White House fraudulent and declared the latter to lack both legal authority and moral standing to adopt it.

Considers that the new measure against President Maduro has a mafia-like nature, and that, along with others aimed at defeating the Bolivarian Revolution, it once again confirms what Che Guevara said in 1964: ‘You cannot trust imperialism even a little bit — not at all.’

Notes that what has happened to the brother Bolivarian president explains, to a large extent, why for the White House, current international law has become an obstacle to its domination aims; the sovereignty of peoples, a nonexistent right; and peace among nations, an irrelevant matter to be molded into the ‘Pax Americana’ — that of graves and infinite profits for its global corporations.

Holds the conviction that it is urgent for all revolutionary and progressive forces in the world to prepare to face even greater and more dangerous absurdities from Trump and the circles of power that sustain him. This is more than enough reason to affirm: It is time to foster anti-imperialist unity, like silver in the roots of the Andes!

Proclaims with vehemence that defending the continuity of the Bolivarian Revolution, now directly and multilaterally besieged by the Trump administration and its international allies, is both a duty and a historical necessity if we wish to preserve Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

Strongly supports the right of the Bolivarians to defend, by all means at their disposal, the social and humanist achievements they have created, and to improve them in a sovereign manner without any kind of interference.

Reaffirms its unconditional and practical support for Bolivarian initiatives aimed at promoting the greatest possible coordination among the world’s antifascist forces.

Expresses its full solidarity and support for President Nicolas Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution, on behalf of Cuban men and women who consider internationalism an inviolable principle.

Long live the Bolivarian Revolution! Honor to President Nicolas Maduro!

Let us defend the Latin American and Caribbean unity dreamed of by Bolivar, Marti, Fidel and Chavez!”
